The Missions Ministry is an exciting area of ministry at Christ United. We know that God not only wants to minister to us, He also wants to minister through us. Here at Christ United, we are answering God’s call by reaching out locally, nationally, and internationally. Our primary goal is to bring the name of Jesus Christ to those who do not know Him and to demonstrate His love, compassion, and saving grace.

The Missions Ministry is overseen by a group of 13 people who form the Missions Committee. Support is received from the church as a part of its budget, but the bulk of its support is through an offering called Christ United Missions Fund. The Christ United Missions Fund offering helps provide the necessary funds so that Christ United can support more than 18 different world, national, and local mission activities. It also allows us to support numerous conference initiatives, mission work teams, and requests from other mission agencies. A gift to Christ United Missions Fund helps organizations like Home of Grace and Mission of Hope that help men and women overcome the bondage of addiction to drugs and alcohol. Places like McKemie Place, which gives homeless women a place of safe shelter at night who would otherwise have no place to go, also receive support through Christ United Missions Fund offerings.

Christ United Missions Fund helps Heifer International in its quest to end world hunger, not by simply giving a one time hand out, but working with families to become self sufficient. By helping to support Victory Health Partners, this agency is able to provide medical care to individuals who are working but have no health insurance. These are just a few examples of what a gift to Christ United Missions Fund does. If you have any questions about CUMC Missions Fund you can contact the Missions Committee. A small gift goes a long way!
