English as a Second Language (ESL)

English as a Second Language Program (ESL) is designed to help adults looking to learn English as their second, third, or fourth language. ESL offers beginning, basic, intermediate, and advanced classes in English Grammar, Reading, Conversation, Citizenship and American History. English classes are for students 19 years of age or older. New students are accepted on any class day. There is no cost for the classes but students must purchase their own textbooks. Free child care is provided during class time for children up to age 5.

Spring Classes begin January 12, 2026
Classes meet on Monday and Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 11:50 a.m.
Rooms C201, C203 and C221/223
Beginning, Basic, Intermediate and Advanced English, Grammar, Reading, Writing, Conversation, Vocabulary

Holiday Schedule

Classes do not meet on the following holidays:

  • January 19: Martin Luther King, Jr Day

  • February 16 & 20: Mardi Gras break

  • March 13 & 16: Teacher’s Work Day

  • April 6: Easter Monday

  • April 13-17: Spring Break

  • May 15: Farewell Lunch at 10:00 a.m. (Bring food from your country)
