Keynote Speaker | Beth Lawrence
Our speaker, Beth Lawrence, is a pastor’s wife, a mother to five children, a Bible study teacher, and an event speaker. She is the founder and director of Know & Follow Ministry, whose mission is to help as many women as possible know and follow Christ through knowing and understanding His Word. Beth is a graduate of Auburn University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. She and her family, plus their very theological Bassett Hound named RC, live in Valley, Alabama.
Her theme, It Is Well: Facing Hard things with Faith, was born out of the darkest days of her life. Woven in are her personal stories that include foster care, adoption, deep and unexpected grief, hard callings and serious failures. Through these stories and stories of scripture, we learn that God writes the best stories, even when they're not easy ones.
Worship Leader | Marsha Scarborough
Marsha Scarborough returns as our worship leader. Marsha and her husband Sid are residents of Silverhill and members of First Bapist Church of Fairhope, where she sings with the Worship Choir and Frontline praise team. Having taught children’s choirs for many years, she now directs the children’s hand bell choir at the church and teaches elementary students during MIX Music Camp at Shocco Springs each summer. Marsha is also a worship leader for various camps, retreats, and Emmaus Walks, which developed from her days of leading worship at the start of Christ United’s NewSong service in 2000.
Sid and Marsha have two grown children, Hannah Mangum (husband Tyler) and Jacob Scarborough (wife Darian). They also have a precious 3-year-old grandson, Michael Mangum, and treasure each moment they get to spend with him.
